8:15-10 – Health and Human Services Reform Committee, room 200 in the State Office Building. Committee to hear HF986 (Foster Care Insurance) and HF987 (Support for youth to age 21) – all are welcome to attend the hearing, several bills including our foster care bills will be on the committee agenda.

10-11 – Open hour for you to:

  • Attend a meeting with your legislators scheduled in advance for this time
  • Introduce yourself to the legislative aide of your Senator and Representative and inquire if your legislator is available for you to give them a written copy of your story
  • Go on the 10 a.m. tour of the newly restored Capitol, more information here: http://www.mnhs.org/capitol/activities/tours
  • Relax and get a cup of coffee at the Capitol Rathskeller Café or MN DOT cafeteria

11-Noon – Dialogue with Legislative Leaders on Foster Care, 500 South in the House Office Building.

You are welcome to attend the portions of Foster Care day that work for you.

NOTE: Bring two written copies of your “story” which you can drop off at your legislator’s office if they aren’t able to attend the group dialogue. It is helpful for them if you include your name and address on your copies.
